Resume

When applying for a job, it’s almost the same as selling yourself and the best advertisement is your resume. When your resume works, then you will be properly marketed towards the best employer for you. Unfortunately, nowadays, even recruitment has been the subject for innovation. This is why some of us do not know how to make the perfect resume. However, I am willing to help you with that.

Below are six secrets that form the foundation of your resume.

1. Cater to Your Target Market

Target

You are the product and the employers are the consumers. Make sure that when applying for a job, you will be able to state in your resume the skills that the company needs and make sure that they are also related to your forte and the company’s main necessity when it comes to man power.

Do not ever write a resume as if you are narrating everything that you have done. They don’t care about those things. What they care about are the things that would help their company.

2. Be sure to be Prepared with Ammo when Going into Battle

You should not be hasty. Make sure that you are prepared and that everything has been planned. Decide on a single target job, one that you have the credentials and experience for, then collect six job postings and carefully analyze how your target employees express their needs for that specific job. Prioritize their common interests and requirements. This will help you in preparing the skills that are needed for that particular job.

3. Use a Target Job Title

Everything starts with a title. Even you yourself start with a name which is also considered a title. So why do most of us often forget about putting titles on our resumes?

It is very important to have a target job title for your resume to appear to be more focus and zoomed in upon what you really want to do for the company.

4. Ignore the Job Objective

Nobody cares about what you want since you are a product, it is already taken into account that you want to serve the company. So don’t waste your time and the space in your resume for those job objectives.

You can tell the employer about your wants and expectations during the interviews but only when they ask.

5. Include your Performance Profile

Most people don’t do this but I would advice for you to include a job profile on your resume for you to be able to catch the attention of the employer. This way you can focus on the skills that you will use to cater to the needs of the company and the employer.

6. Professional Skills

The last but definitely never the least is for you to showcase your professional skills or your experiences. This is also simply the list of skills that you possess and that are definitely needed for the job.

A resume that is focused mainly on the needs of the job and the customer’s needs in mind and are of course built with these tips will definitely get you more job interviews.
